Local MTA Affiliate finally on the Jackson County Commissioner Agenda!—6:00 on Jan. 29th (Thurs.) Come and swell our numbers. We need your supportive presence during this exciting chance for a County-level approval of the MTA Resolution in WNC. It’s almost certain we have the votes; “Getting MTA Resolution approval is one of [Chairman McMahan’s] goals.” The Commissioners meet in the Commissioners Board Room (right turn at top of stairs/elevator)  use left entrance of Administrative side of building–Jackson County Justice Center

Jackson County’s NAACP Branch INVITES YOU to a CELEBRATION on Monday, January 19th Save this date!Sylva’s Bridge Park (3-5pm) “Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service/Gratitude” Come celebrate the historical sacrifices of the Civil Rights era and all volunteer participation on MLK Day. REGULAR MEETINGS of MTA FAR-WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA—Sylva

Move to Amend’s affiliate in Far Western North Carolina-Sylva is a coalition partnership of Occupy WNC and The Canary Coalition. Guests and new members always welcome!

Each second and fourth Tuesday the Western NC MTA affiliate meets at the OccupyWNC General Assembly. Our intent is to be agrassroots movement that is multi-racial, multi-generational, cross-gender orientation and identity, cross-party, cross-class and multi-cultural. Our goal is a 28th Amendment to the US Constitution—nothing less than an end to the US Constitution rights of corporate “Personhood” and to elections where money is NOT “Speech.” Only then, will democracy have a chance to be legalized in the United States. Next meetings in 2015: Tuesday, Jan. 27th and Tuesday, Feb. 10th — 7:00 to 8:30pm.
